January 25, 2002 MOBEA Technologies Inc. receives a research grant from the National Research Council of Canada to pursue research on several key digital video technologies. The funds will help MOBEA's in-house team of researchers engage in experimental development of algorithms for video compression, remote camera control, and transmission protocols for both wired and wireless packet-data networks. The innovations from our research will give MOBEA's products a huge competitive edge as they increase the usability and cost-effectiveness of remote video surveillance. The NRC grant is a huge step forward in MOBEA's R&D efforts. January 1, 2002 MOBEA Technologies Inc. announces the alpha-launch of our streaming video solution: the MOBEA-P, a self-contained live encoding (120 frames a second) web video server integrated with NewHeights Software's Video Services Gateway and Helix application platform.
